What's in my Hospital Bag?

It seems that the packing of the hospital bag is one of the most stressful things that pregnant women experience during their pregnancy, and trust me it is.

I must have packed, and repacked my hospital bag countless number of times, and still feel as if I have missed something really essential out.

I have decided to share with you what I have packed in my bag, and hopefully this will help all expectant mums out their, in remembering those all important essentials you will need when the day arrives for your little one to finally enter the world after a long nine month wait.

My hospital bag has been carefully laid out into specific sections, so it is easier for me to find and know where everything I have packed is. The sections in my bag include essentials, partners items, after the birth essentials and most importantly items for our new arrival.

I purchased my hospital bag from: Ebay

  • Birth Plan & Pregnancy notes
  • Old pajamas or nightdresses (I am taking more than one, just in case I am in the hospital longer than expected)
  • Slippers
  • Socks
  • Dressing gown
  • Snacks and energy drinks
  • Maternity pads
  • Hair brush, my hair gets messy just sitting still so this will definitely be needed, especially if it's raining on the day I go into labour
  • Clothes to go home in, I have baggy clothes due to most likely still being quite sore and uncomfortable
  • Handheld fan, just in case I get too hot

Partner's bag:
  • Phone charger
  • Camera
  • Snacks and drinks
  • Fresh clothes for if we have to stay in overnight, and also for when we go home
  • Magazines or Newspapers for him to read
  • Change for car parks

After the Birth:
  • Shower gel & wash clothes for when I want a shower after labour
  • Nursing bras
  • Nipple cream
  • Breast pads
  • Old pants or disposable ones that you can throw away afterwards
  • Toiletries; toothpaste, toothbrush, deodrant, hair bands and lip balm
  • Towel
Treaclemoon: Honeycomb Secret and Lemonade Days Bath and Shower Gel

For our baby:
  • Baby clothes; vests, sleep suits, hat and mittens
  • Going home outfit
  • Muslin clothes and bibs
  • Nappies
  • Baby toiletries; including wipes, cotton wool and nappy cream
  • Blankets
  • Car seat

What did you take in your hospital bag, and did you use everything that you packed? Let me know in the comments below.
